Immersive Journey to KGF: Unveiling the Cinematic Marvel
Before describing my entire thrilling journey to KGF (Kolar Gold Fields), I like to give a brief note on KGF. KGF which stands for Kolar Gold Fields, is a place located in the Kolar district of Karnataka, was one of the biggest sources of Gold in India, once upon a time. During the British reign, they used to extract immense gold from KGF which is a rather indeed a big historical story, which I am not going to mention in this topic. But as per the history, the British drained tons of gold from this KGF gold mine during their period. According to the sources, Gold still exist in KGF, but currently this place is prohibited for common people to enter.
On 15th June 2023, I started my journey to KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) from Bangalore via my younger brother's Royal Enfield Himalayan 410 cc. Before that, I like to mention you that, I was staying in Bengalore, Marathahalli in my younger brother's house. So, on 15th June 2023, I took his bike and started my journey to KGF along with my wife and 2 years baby, in the afternoon, 1:30 pm. It was a bright sunny day, when I started my journey. The entire road was a thrilling journey by bike and it took nearly 2.30 hours to reach the actual KGF spot. During my bike riding, the panaromic view of the surroundings was just unparalleled. I already had a phone number of one of the locals who stays nearby to the KGF and in fact he did one of the supporting roles in the movie KGF: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. I finally contacted with him over the phone when I reached the KGF spot. Believe me, I took a little walk around the locality and saw that people like him are realy suffering from poverty. The locals are very shy and very needy people. Though I am not disclosing his name, he is a very shy guy who was there to help me guide to the KGF. We were walking by the side of a railway track, when I suddenly saw a region that was glittering with golden color with the sun's reflection. I was mentioned by my guide that, the place is non other than KGF. I was just speechless when I entered the KGF. It was a big area with frequent slopy tracks and soil underneath my feet, just like as you have watched the film "KGF: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2".
It was a dream comes true for me when I was watching the entire region of KGF. I am standing in that place where it was known as one of the largest Gold mine reserve in India once upon a time. While I was walking along the tracks of KGF, I was warned by the guide of not going to the side of the track, as it has got some huge steeps downwards, which can take you to an accident. So, I was walking very safely along the KGF with my wife and my child. While I was walking, the first thing that drew my sight was the remainings of the old machineries and structures that were once used by the British during the mine extraction process, where labours used to go underneath in search of gold, which was shown exactly in the film "KGF". The guide mentioned me that, the part of the film "KGF" was shooted in that region. He also shown us the spot where there was a scene in the movie "KGF", where Yash (Rocky bhai) was fighting with Sanjay Dutta (Adheera). We took several photos over there and it was a magnificient sight to watch the historic gold mine place. The guide informed me that it is not safe to stay in the KGF spot after 5 pm as no people stay in that place. So, I finnally bid goodbye to the KGF and landed down towards the local region where I kept my bike. Thereafter I spoke with the locals and got to know about their traditions, and festivals. So, it was nearly 6 pm, when I ultimately bid farewell to my guide and started my journey towards Bangalore.
As it was nearly 6 pm when I started my journey back to Bangalore, I was also thinking about how to reach my place (Bangalore) at the earliest, since it was almost evening and I was carrying my 2 years baby with my wife. But, ultimately I reached my location at 8:30 pm approximately safely. One thing I must say to you that always try to ride the bike with normal speed as it's a high road with maximum chance of reaching accidents. Also, if you are carrying your child along with you by bike, try to cover your baby/child with light cloth over the ears and neck, as, the cold wind might make your child sick.
